John Muir Elementary

John Muir Elementary, the first school in Martinez to start a Walk N Roll program, is located on the top of a hill and had a rainy launch day in November 2024. Because of its geography, a successful bike and walk program wasn't guaranteed….AND YET…they launched with the most participation on a launch day at that time: 172 participants! Some students live as far as 2.5 miles from the school, so park-and-walk and carpool are popular. However, one parent noted that their school had never had a child’s bike parked in the bike racks, but on Fridays it's now normal to see as many as 10 kid's bikes with additional cargo bikes. Under the leadership of Bryan Clarkson and Tom Gray, it’s safe to say that the Timberwolves have truly mastered the art of rolling with it!
